Relax on the Sunsoaked Beaches of the Southern Gold Coast
Between Burleigh Heads and Currumbin on the southern end of the Gold Coast is Palm Beach, one of the less developed areas of the coastal strip.
This pristine beach is popular with families, surfers, boogie boarders and walkers - just about anyone who enjoys the beach really. The extensive boardwalk along this beach is well used at all hours of the day by walkers, cyclists and those taking their dogs for their daily walk. If you want to explore the nature areas along this stretch of the Gold Coast, take your time and follow the boardwalk through to the Burleigh Heads National Park.
Along the beachfront at Palm Beach is a park with a playground that is a real hit with children. With several tables and seats, this is a great place to eat a picnic lunch or grab some takeaway from one of the local fish and chip shops.
The Palm Beach surf can be temperamental, as can all surf beaches, so be sure to check up on the beach conditions and safety hints before you go. Palm Beach has a patrolled swimming area so make sure you swim between the designated flags. Surf Life Saving Queensland can give you more information about beach safety.
When choosing Gold Coast Accommodation, Palm Beach has something for every taste and budget. There are first-class resorts such as the beachfront Royal Palm Resort, holiday apartments and parks or private beach homes to rent.
