Relax on the Sunsoaked Beaches of the Southern Gold Coast
Kirra surf has some of the best, most diverse surfing conditions along the Gold Coast, Australia. You will find the smaller surf closer to the shore being ideal for swimming and beginner board riders. Outside the flags there is more challenging surf breaking further out where the waves can become crowded due to its popularity with surfers.
In fact, Kirra Beach is known for producing the perfect wave and has played host to the Billabong Pro Surfing Competition. However, Kirra is not only superb for body and board surfing, it's also an excellent location for fishing, diving and boating.
Kirra Beach, Gold Coast, is divided into two distinct beaches, Kirra and Kirra North, ideal for a more relaxing swim.
From Kirra Beach paths lead to Coolangatta Beach or Greenmount Beach, sheltered by the cool green promontory of Greenmount headland, and Rainbow Bay, another ideal beach for families.
Though Kirra Beach accommodation compares favourably with upmarket Gold Coast resorts, the location is quieter than the main tourist strip making it very popular with families.
Another reason to choose Kirra Beach is that it has some of the most beautiful scenery the Gold Coast has to offer. Some Kirra Beach apartments have fantastic views over the beach and surrounding areas. The Kirra Beach Tourist Park provides relaxed accommodation within walking distance of the beach.
For visitors who want to take a break from so much perfection, the Gold Coast by-pass road provides easy access to the major theme parks including the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary which is also close by.
